Why I love it: It allows you to have more apps than the Nintendo DSi, and it comes with AR GAMES, FACE RAIDERS, Mii PLAZA, and DS DOWNLOAD for 3DS and DS.
My favorite feature is whenever you keep your 3DS on, but closed in your pocket, you get points that you can turn in for a puzzle piece! What is a puzzle piece you may ask? Well a puzzle piece is a virtual puzzle that whenever you finish a piece it’s a surprise….. then you get other one, and another one.
The Mii MAKER is like the Wii and you can even take your Wii characters from your Wii! If you turn in your Nintendo points online you can get an AR Card which will make your characters seem to come to life on your top screen. My mom enjoyed taking a picture of herself standing next to her Mii. (sigh; wish I had thought of that one first)
You can add music to your 3DS with the 2GB SD card included with your purchase. This works great with iTunes music files! Cool tip: Turn on your music on your 3DS and put it on top of another DS….the music will continue to play even with your 3DS closed!
CHAT. If your friend has a 3DS you can talk to them from anywhere using your Wi-Fi. Just give them your code!
Don’t worry, you won’t lose anything! You can transfer almost everything from your DSI or DSI XL if you have Wi-Fi Connection. To do this, download the transfer tool at the Nintendo shop channel.
Parental Controls: Are terrible. Not just because most parental controls are terrible, but because if your parents set them up in any way it could prevent you from using your internet capabilities… even if that isn’t what they selected to use. This portion of the 3DS needed more work.
The Nintendo 3DS is a cool system. The size is perfect as it will still fit in my pocket. The 3D effects are great but are customizable if you are not in the mood for them. It is the best handheld I’ve had and all my siblings are going to be begging Santa for one!
